The Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC) was founded in 2004 as a partnership between the World Bank and the Japanese government and is managed by the World Bank Group's Urban, Subnational Finance, Tourism, and Disaster Management Global Department.
TDLC serves as a leading global knowledge hub with a mission to identify Japanese and global best practices, generate new insights, and share actionable solutions to maximize the impact of World Bank Group–financed urban development projects in developing countries.
Strategy
Located in Tokyo, TDLC collaborates closely with Japanese and global urban experts in a variety of sectors, as well as with city practitioners, World Bank client countries and respective Bank staff through joint research, knowledge exchange, and project-level engagements.
