Exchange of Views with World Bank President Banga
Tokyo, December 5, 2025
On December 5, the Japan Chapter of the Parliamentary Network of World Bank, or PNoWB Japan, chaired by Ichiro Aisawa, exchanged views with World Bank President Banga. Dynamic discussions covered the World Bank reform efforts, job creation in developing countries, improved health care, debt transparency, and promotion of recruitment of Japanese staff working for the World Bank.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Yasutoshi Nishimura directly presented the "Letter of Request" by PNoWB Japan to President Banga. The requests covers promotion of Japanese staff recruitment, involvement of Japanese companies in World Bank Group projects, and other areas of interest for Japan related to the activities of the World Bank Group, including global health, quality infrastructure for disaster risk management and other purposes, confirming of debt data of borrowing nations, the supply chain of critical minerals, and support with the perspective of "human security."
Also present at the meeting were officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the Government of Japan.
