MANILA, September 10, 2014 –The World Bank Group welcomes the submission of the draft Bangsamoro Basic Law to the Philippine Congress by His Excellency President Benigno S. Aquino III. We commend the efforts of the joint Government of the Philippines-Moro Islamic Liberation Front Bangsamoro Transition Commission in completing the preparation of the draft law. This is a crucial step in the road map to achieving peace and development in Mindanao.
