Research Academy 2017

The annual Research Academy competition identifies the best new policy-relevant research from across the World Bank Group. The 2017 competition focused on papers that make a significant contribution to our understanding of human development. The four winning papers were selected from across the Bank based on technical quality, originality, and operational relevance. They represent the very best new research from across the institution, and combine a high degree of technical rigor with a commitment to identifying relevant policy advice for Bank clients.

Research Academy 2017: Call for Papers

September 2016 - The Research Department and the Office of the Chief Economist for Human Development invite World Bank staff and consultants to submit papers to the 2017 Research Academy on topics relevant to one of the following Global Practices: 

  • Health
  • Education
  • Social Protection, Labor, and Jobs

Selection Process

The Research Director and Human Development Chief Economist convene a committee of experts from across the World Bank Group based on the topic of submissions. The papers are reviewed based on the following criteria: (1) technical quality; (2) originality; and (3) operational relevance. The committee is composed of a cross section of operational and research staff.

Deadline: October 28, 2016
