Formation of Advisory Committee on WGI Methodology (February 2025)
For over two decades, the Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI) has been a leading global project for measuring perceptions of governance. As part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in governance measurement, we have convened an Advisory Committee to review and, if necessary, refine key aspects of the WGI methodology.
This review focuses on three critical questions:
- The selection of primary data sources
- The choice of governance dimensions (thematic areas)
- The statistical method used to aggregate primary data into country-year indicators
The Advisory Committee comprises distinguished experts in governance, statistics, and composite indicator methodology, including:
