The Challenge:

Although Moldova has advanced in improving rulemaking procedures and service delivery through regulatory reforms, more work is required for regulatory transformations to be implemented effectively. The data requirements in business regulation procedures need to be revised to facilitate regulatory delivery for business entry, licensing, and inspections. Integrated business regulation data is needed for agile policymaking and the design of business data management can significantly contribute to the country’s efforts in regulatory reforms.

The Mission:

C-JET is funding a grant that is being implemented by the World Bank in Moldova to address regulatory technology. Activities under the grant include analysis and making recommendations for data design to enable agile policymaking and efficient regulatory delivery, the development of principles and guidelines for standardized business regulation data management, providing technical assistance in monitoring and implementing e-Inspections and performance-based requirements, and facilitating webinars to share best practices. These activities and more aim to contribute to digitalization and environmental and protection to strengthening the business environment in Moldova.
