Helping refugees and host communities prosper together: a better response to forced displacement

In Uganda, Maria wants to run a business and send her children to school. Dahir, a local resident, says host communities are also poor and need opportunities. In Ethiopia, Ahmedin and his children are able to work and contribute to the local economy. In Bangladesh, about one million refugees in Cox’s Bazar need development support to provide healthcare and help them develop skills while in exile. The World Bank Group is supporting both refugees and host communities, creating opportunities and jobs, and empowering women and girls.
