I congratulate the Members of Parliament of Kosovo on the ratification of the financing agreement with the World Bank for the Public Finances and Sustainable Growth Development Policy Financing (DPF), which will benefit the people and the economy of Kosovo. This financing in the amount of EUR 50.6 million will support Kosovo’s reform efforts to improve fiscal transparency, enhance private sector development, and strengthen environmental sustainability. It will help Kosovo ensure adequate fiscal space to address developmental gaps and promote faster poverty reduction. The timing of the ratification of the DPF is particularly important as it will support Kosovo in responding to the current global inflationary pressures. Over the last 23 years, the World Bank has been a strong partner for Kosovo, and we look forward to continuing and deepening this partnership.
