WASHINGTON, November 8, 2016 World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim today announced the appointment of Antonella Bassani as Vice President, Budget, Performance Review & Strategic Planning (BPS).
“Antonella brings a blend of operational knowledge and financial expertise from across the institution, and her broad exposure to the organization will enable us to better support the business moving forward,” said Kim.
An Italian national, Bassani is currently the Director, Strategy and Operations for the Middle East and North Africa Region.
Antonella Bassani joined the Bank as a Young Professional in 1993 and has had a rich and diverse career in a number of operational and corporate positions. Prior to assuming her current role, Bassani was the Director, Strategy and Operations for the East Asia and Pacific Region. Before that, Bassani was Director, Resource Mobilization, where she played a leading role in the successful past two replenishments of the International Development Association, the World Bank Group’s Fund for the Poorest. Her operational experience includes roles in the Bank’s Africa, East Asia and Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Middle East and North Africa regions.
Her appointment date will be effective December 1.
