On September 11, 2010, a Memorandum on Strategic Partnership was signed between the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development - a World Bank Group member.
On the part of Yakutia the document was signed by Egor Borisov, President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), while the IBRD was represented by Pedro Alba, Country Director and Resident Representative.
The Memorandum covers cooperation in pre-school and school education, sustainable health sector development, introduction of PBB, improving investment climate and promoting conducive business environment, providing conditions for agricultural development, development of physical culture and sports, scientific and innovations capacity, improving housing and utilities sector efficiency, introducing innovative and energy-saving technologies, pollution reduction.
