Pakistan - Water Sector Capacity Building & Advisory Services Project

WASHINGTON, December 21, 2015 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following:

An additional financing of $35 million to support improved management, planning and development of water resources for the Indus River Basin in Pakistan with better environmental and social considerations.

Project: Pakistan Water Sector Capacity Building & Advisory Services Project (WCAP)

IDA: US$35.00 Million

Terms: Maturity 25 years, Grace 5 years

Project Description: The objective of the Water Sector Capacity Building and Advisory Services Project (WCAP) is to improve the country's management and investment planning of water resources in the Indus River system through: a) capacity building of and support to federal institutions in water resources planning and management, b) improvement in water resources management and development in Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), and c) project management and additional studies.
