Project Description: The project is in response to a Tajik Government request to IDA to provide support for meeting severe energy shortages. The project will be restructured to address changed circumstances and the new challenges such as Tajikistan’s cut off from CAPS 1 Reservoir (‘dead zone’ refers to the level at which no power generation is possible) and consequent needs to increase domestic power generation.
