Annual Meeting of the Informal Consultation Group of the World Bank Global Program on Forced Displacement (GPFD)

The second annual meeting of the Informal Consultation Group of the World Bank Global Program on Forced Displacement (GPFD) was held on December 2, 2011 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The meeting was hosted by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and attended by representatives of the governments of Norway, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, United States (State Department and USAID), the Netherlands and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC), the Joint IDP Profiling Service (JIPS), the Refugee Studies Centre of the University of Oxford (RSC), and the Overseas Development Institute (ODI). The European Union, DFID and Norad had expressed interest in participating and sent apologies, while Canada had to cancel its previously planned participation in the last moment.

The meeting served to present the activities, achievements, and challenges of the GPFD, to hear perspectives, advice and specific interests from partners, as well as to discuss how to improve partnership and collaboration and the best way forward for the program.
