Thirty members of the WBG Private Sector Liaison Officer Network gathered in Budapest for a 1.5 day training on WBG policies and programs of relevance to the private sector. The program was jointly organized with the Hungarian EXIM Bank (PSLO for Hungary) and included speakers from the WB and IFC as well as representatives from the Hungarian private sector and UNHCR. The retreat provided the opportunity to update members on WBG priorities, policies and research of relevance for the private sector, and for the PSLOs to share experience and best practice in engaging their member companies with the WBG, and discuss upcoming joint activities. Participants also had the opportunity to visit the development center and Budapest wastewater treatment site of a Hungarian IFC client, Organica Water, which provides innovative solutions for the treatment and recycling of wastewater, with operations in MENA, AFR and Asia.
