Papua New Guinea and Pacific Island countries face unique development challenges that impact procurement in project implementation.
The World Bank’s Pacific Procurement team have developed templates and guidance to help support Pacific countries through procurement processes unique to the Pacific region.
The guidance provided on this page is to help Pacific countries work through procurement processes, and offer a flexible and simplified approach to the World Bank’s Procurement Framework. It is aimed at supporting Pacific governments and partners to achieve their project development objectives, while still delivering on World Bank Procurement regulations, which are mandatory for all WB-financed projects in PNG and the Pacific.
Resources and secure login for the World Bank’s Systematic Tracking of Exchanges in Procurement (STEP), the online system that helps the World Bank and Borrowers plan, record, and track key stages of the procurement process are all available at www.worldbank.org/step.
Please find responses to Frequently Asked STEP and Contract Management Module Questions here.
