The Medical Benefits Plan (MBP) is a comprehensive health insurance plan operated by the World Bank Group for locally appointed staff and their eligible dependents in country offices. MBP assists members in meeting covered medical expenses of certain treatment/services, facilities, and supplies. MBP is a contributory group insurance plan with 75 percent of the premium funded by the Bank Group and 25 percent by staff. It is also a reimbursement plan and enrollment is mandatory to locally appointed staff, excluding short-term consultants/short-term temporaries (STC/STTs). The Bank Group's MBP claims administrator is Cigna International Health Services.
