The 2015 GGFR Excellence Awards

Recognizing Excellence in Gas Flaring Reduction

The Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership (GGFR) Excellence Award recognizes governments, oil companies, development institutions, and other organizations that have made a significant contribution to gas flaring reduction in the upstream sector of the industry through associated gas utilization projects, partnerships, and innovative use of technology or business approaches. The awards will be presented during GGFR’s Global Forum, hosted by the government of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra (KMAO), the Russian Federation, on September 9, 2015.

Applications are open to all organizations, whether GGFR members or not. The application should include a brief description of the project or initiative (2-3 pages) highlighting: (i) results achieved in terms of flare reduction; (ii) increased access to energy domestically; (iii) challenges and/or barriers addressed; (iv) lessons learned; and (v) any partnership role, if relevant. Visual materials to illustrate the gas flaring reduction projects are welcome and could be used by GGFR for knowledge sharing and/or promotional purposes. No material will be used without prior agreement of the organization.

Applications should be received no later than July 17, 2015, and will be reviewed by an expert panel.  Award recipients will be notified early August to allow them adequate time to prepare for the Award Ceremony in September. Please send your applications to Nadiège Ayitoe Meyo at nayitoemeyo@worldbank.org and Gloria Jean Whitaker at gwhitaker@worldbank.org.
