GPS Global Policy Forum on Natural Capital

Since 2016, the World Bank through its Global Program on Sustainability (GPS) and Wealth Accounting and the Valuation of Ecosystem Services (WAVES) has been organizing the Global Policy Forum on Natural Capital. The Global Forum brings together policymakers and private sector actors as active or potential users of data on natural capital along with the providers of such data to share knowledge and experiences on using data and evidence to inform decisions that affect natural capital and economic outcomes. Previous forums focused on specific global topics, including  links between Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) and policy (2016), Sustainable Development Goals (2017), Biodiversity and Climate (2018), Integrated Landscape Management (2019), Greening the Post-COVID Recovery (2021), and Financing for Nature (2022). Like in the past, the 2024 Policy Forum is organized in collaboration with the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD).
