The Challenge:

The COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and digital transformation are current megatrends transforming the global economy. Policy makers from client countries across the globe are prioritizing green competitiveness, leveraging the digital economy to support investment competitiveness, and effective policies for COVID-19 recovery. Specific knowledge gaps related to key priority areas of the jobs and economic transformation agenda can be filled, including on investment climate, green competitiveness, and digital economy. Facilitating global knowledge events to discuss and strategize will be beneficial for policy makers and World Bank staff in support of client countries.

The Mission:

C-JET is funding a global grant that is being implemented by the World Bank, to deliver two knowledge events. The Global Investment Competitiveness Forum event will facilitate strategic discussions with policy makers, private sector executives, development partners, and World Bank Staff on advancing investment competitiveness and COVID-19 recovery in developing countries, with a focus on green, resilient and inclusive priorities. The Investment Climate Academy event will disseminate strategic project insights and latest innovations in analytical and operational solutions for investment climate reforms among staff from across World Bank regions. Through these activities and more, this grant aims to help promote more effective COVID-19 response policies and support resilient recovery.
