Indonesia: Secure Land Rights for Prosperous Communities

Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world, with a total land area of 190 million hectares. Secure land rights are of critical importance for Indonesia's 273 million people. Supported by the World Bank, Indonesia initiated the program to accelerate agrarian reform, or one-map project. Its objective is to speed up systematic land registration to increase land tenure security, enhance local communities' livelihoods, and boost sustainable growth.
