In June 2022, the Central Asia Water and Energy Program (CAWEP) and EC IFAS hosted a regional water forum within the Second Dushanbe Water Action Decade Conference to highlight major water issues in Central Asia. Officials, water experts, practitioners, academics and youth from across the region and the world participated, signifying a growing recognition of the importance of water cooperation in Central Asia. CAWEP is a partnership between the World Bank, the European Union, Switzerland and the United Kingdom to strengthen the enabling environment to promote water and energy security at the regional and country level in Central Asia.
