Driving Resilience Development in Central Africa with Hydromet

Central African countries are determined to tackle increasing weather, water and climate challenges. With concerted effort, the inaugural Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) hydromet forum for Central Africa offers a platform for climate-resilient development and adaptation planning through the improvement of hydromet services as a tool for development. The goal is to strengthen the observation, transmission, interpretation and dissemination of hydro-meteorological data and information services. The initiative will help Central African governments provide services that reduce the impact of floods, droughts and natural hazards and protect their citizens and industries—from the small-scale farming businesses, to large-scale ones such as aviation and transport, with the help of the Africa Hydromet Program.
