In Rural India, Economic Empowerment Program Mobilizes 45 Million Women

India’s National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLP) is one of the world’s most innovative projects aimed at reducing poverty and creating sustainable livelihoods for the rural poor, especially women. This large-scale economic empowerment program has so far mobilized more than 45 million women through self-help groups and covers more than 40% of rural India.
