Brazilian youth use technology to fight gender violence, promote women in politics

In November 2014, Brazilian young hackers Daniela Rozados, Rafael Reis and Salete Farias created a website (http://minhavoz.com/) to help women understand what gender violence is and seek for help. Meanwhile, Isadora Forte, Yves Bouckaert and Matheus Santana developed an online tool (https://donamaria.herokuapp.com/) to increase women's representation in legislative branches. Both teams won the Gender Hackathon promoted by Brazil's Congress and sponsored by the World Bank. Their hard work was awarded with a trip to Washington DC, where they met with Bank officials and specialists in entrepreneurship. Listen to their stories.
