WASHINGTON, April 21 – Today, World Bank Group President David Malpass met with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal of Ukraine.
President Malpass was glad to affirm to Prime Minister Shmyhal the World Bank Group’s (WBG) full solidarity with and support for the people of Ukraine as they work to address the horrific wartime destruction inflicted by Russia. Following their meeting, President Malpass joined Prime Minister Shmyhal for a signing ceremony for the Ukraine Multi Donor Trust Fund (MDTF).
President Malpass and Prime Minister Shmyhal discussed the catastrophic economic impacts of the war and the WBG’s efforts to provide analysis, coordination, and financial support. President Malpass highlighted the WBG’s mobilization of $3 billion for Ukraine and confirmed ongoing WBG efforts to secure additional guarantees and grants.
