WASHINGTON, April 18, 2022 – Today, World Bank Group President David Malpass met with Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong of Singapore.
President Malpass shared with Minister Wong the World Bank Group’s (WBG) perspectives on the multiple crises facing the global economy, including inflation, the war in Ukraine, the buildup of government debt, and growing inequality. President Malpass and Minister Wong also discussed the WBG economic forecast for countries in East Asia and the Pacific.
President Malpass reaffirmed to Minister Wong the WBG’s commitment to its strong partnership with Singapore, and thanked the Minister for Singapore’s continued support for WBG programs and initiatives, particularly on quality infrastructure investment opportunities, climate finance, and sustainable cities.
