Updated Statement on Former Staff Member Monica Dorhoi

WASHINGTON, November 16, 2018—An individual named Monica Dorhoi has been posting false and defamatory statements on her personal blog about World Bank staff members and public officials, as well as issuing correspondence and arranging meetings in the name of the World Bank Group. In some communications, Ms. Dorhoi has presented herself as the World Bank's Vice President, Risk Management and International Government Relations.

Monica Dorhoi has not been employed by the World Bank since 2013 and is in no capacity authorized to represent any arm of the World Bank Group. Any claims otherwise by Ms. Dorhoi or her proxies should not be viewed as credible.

The World Bank staff members about whom Ms. Dorhoi has written are well-respected and valued employees of the institution. Ms. Dorhoi’s allegations regarding these individuals are baseless and entirely without merit.

This statement updates an earlier version posted on June 16, 2017, in order to highlight that Ms. Dorhoi has been posting false and defamatory statements on her personal blog about World Bank staff members and public officials.
