“The World Bank Group is deeply saddened by the devastation of the earthquake in Central Italy that has taken the lives of so many. On behalf of my staff, I wish to convey our sincere and most heartfelt condolences to the families that have lost loved ones. In these difficult moments, our thoughts are with the Italian people and government, and with the Italian Civil Protection and the volunteers collaborating in the rescue efforts.”
