The World Bank Announces the Launch of an Essay Competition Among University Students in Georgia

Call for Universities: Essay Competition for Students

As part of celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Georgia’s membership in the World Bank, the Country Office in Tbilisi is pleased to announce the launch of an essay competition among university students in Georgia.

The purpose of the competition is to invite discussion on the main development challenges facing the country. The topic for the essay competition is: “Georgia Twenty Years from Now.”

The students and universities of the top ten essays will be recognized, including publicity from the World Bank. Authors of the top five essays will receive monetary prizes (1,000 GEL per essay).

The award ceremony will take place at the 20th anniversary reception to be hosted by the World Bank.

All higher education institutions are welcome. Participating universities will be responsible for conducting the initial screening of the essays submitted by their respective students. The universities will nominate the best essays to the World Bank for the final selection. The language of the essay is either Georgian or English.

Universities are invited to express interest by completing and submitting the attached Expression of Interest (EoI) no later than October 23rd  by email to Ms. Inga Paichadze, External Affairs Officer, at ipaichadze@worldbank.org or a hardcopy to the following address: 5A Nino Ramishvili Str. Tbilisi, Georgia 0179. Detailed guidelines will be provided upon receiving EoI.
