The World Bank data and publications will be available for all in Rouse regional library

Ruse, May 12, 2010 - A World Bank e-kiosk was opened in Ruse Regional Library “Luben Karavelov” today. All World Bank’s data and publications will be available for general public using a dedicated electronic corner in the library. The corner is equipped with computers donated by the World Bank Sofia Office and will provide access to all electronic databases of the Bank which have been recently released without subscription.

 The World Bank resident representative Florian Fichtl attended the event and signed a memorandum of agreement with the library Director Mr. Rumian Ganchev.

“I am delighted to be in Ruse toady to support the regional library becoming a stronger knowledge provider in the region. As a committed partner to Bulgaria the World Bank has provided in the recent years not only financial support, but mainly policy advice assistance bringing up the best of global and European knowledge and experience. In this sense we are perceived as a knowledge bank and I am glad that our knowledge assets namely publications and data bases will be available for all in Ruse library”, the World Bank resident representative Florian Fichtl said at the opening.

The Ruse regional library is part of the World Bank knowledge network in Bulgaria. Five institutions in the country provide access to all Bank’s publications as follows:
• American University Library in Blagoevgrad
• Bulgarian Academy of Science Library
• Center for the Study of Democracy
• Varna University of Economics
