The World Bank announced today it intends to call all the outstanding principal amount of the 8-1/8 percent Twenty-Five Year U.S. Dollar Bonds of 1971, due August l, 1996, $121.8 million principal amount, at a price of 100 percent of par. All of the bonds will be redeemed on February 1, 1992. Bondholders will be sent a formal redemption notice on or about December 23, 1991. Interest on the bonds will cease to accrue on the redemption date.
