World Bank Announces 350 Million Swiss Franc Syndicated Bank Loan

The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank) and a syndicate of leading Swiss banks and a group of foreign banks domiciled in Switzerland and Liechtenstein signed today in Washington, D.C. a Loan Agreement for a 5-year syndicated Swiss franc bank loan.

This loan, in a principal amount of SwF 350 million (about US$146.2 million equivalent), carries an interest rate of 6-5/8% with a payout price of par.

The banking syndicate is led by Swiss Bank Corporation with Credit Suisse, Union Bank of Switzerland, Swiss Volksbank, Banca Della Svizzera Italiana, Bank Leu Ltd., Banque Cantonale de Zurich and Banca Del Gottardo as co-managers.
