WASHINGTON, March 15, 2017 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors approved the following project:
India – West Bengal Institutional Strengthening of Gram Panchayats Program II
IBRD Loan: US $210 million equivalent
Terms: Maturity = 15 years, Grace = 8 years
Project Description: The project will strengthen Gram Panchayats (GPs) – the lowest tier of rural local governments – across the state of West Bengal, India to better utilize the untied/discretionary funds that are now available to them.
