Project Description: The funding for this project will expand and consolidate the system of Protected Areas in the Brazilian Amazon region and strengthen mechanisms for its financial sustainability. This will be achieved by the creation of an additional thirteen million five hundred thousand (approximately) hectares of new protected areas in the Amazon region.
