In Tokyo, the World Bank's Tokyo Office organized a breakfast meeting with PNOWB, Japan, with World Bank Director for Strategy and Operations in the Africa RegionColin Bruce as a key speaker. Colin Bruce appreciated Japan’s leadership on TICAD V (5th Tokyo International Conference on African Development) and reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to support the successful TICAD as a co-organizer. MPs appreciated the World Bank’s strategy and partnership with Japan, but also asked for the Bank to step up its recruitment efforts in Japan. Mr. Koumura, President of PNOWB, Japan and Deputy President of the ruling LDP, participated in the meeting.
