WASHINGTON DC
CHFF

The World Bank Group’s Health, Nutrition, and Population Global Practice, in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization, and the Inter-American Development Bank, is hosting a two-day interactive event titled Caribbean Health Financing Forum, scheduled for June 3-4, 2024, at the World Bank Headquarters, Washington D.C. The Forum is organized under the umbrella of the Alliance for Primary Health Care in the Americas (A4PHC), launched in Uruguay on December 4-6, 2023.[1]

The collaborative effort between the World Bank, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is an initiative under the Alliance for Primary Health in the Americas (A4PHC) that seeks to catalyze the rapid development of health financing policies based on a Primary Health Care approach among Caribbean Member States. The joint collaborative marks a foundational step guiding the future and continuous cooperation between the three agencies and Member States, aimed at strengthening health financing systems throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

The ultimate objective of this joint endeavor is to empower countries to devise comprehensive strategies informed by the latest policy frameworks, evidence, and good practices under an overarching health systems approach. This collaboration will accelerate the advancement of policies and interventions that significantly improve the health and overall well-being of the people across the Caribbean.
