ECA Talk: Growing United - Upgrading Europe’s Convergence Machine

Peter Berkowitz is Director for Policy Development and Economic Analysis, Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy in the European Commission. This directorate is responsible for policy development, economic analysis, evaluation, the European Semester, financial instruments, and legal affairs. He holds postgraduate degrees in politics from the University of Oxford and the Institut d’études politiques de Paris, and finance and economic policy from the University of London.

Leonardo Iacovone is a Lead Economist, in the Finance, Competitiveness & Innovation Global Practice, ECA. Leonardo has worked in the Development Research Group, the Financial and Private Sector Development Unit of the Africa Region, and the Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Global Practice. Leonardo received a PhD in Economics from University of Sussex.

Iván Torre is a Senior Economist in the Office of the Chief Economist, ECA. His work focuses on inequality, labor economics, human development, and political economy. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad de Buenos Aires and holds a PhD in economics from Sciences Po, Paris.
