November 16, 2021
Virtual

What is it about chatbots that allow them to become a common tool used to tackle gender-based violence across the world? With the global emerging adoption of GBV chatbots accelerated by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the roundtable discussion will unpack interactions of chatbots with people of various unique cultures in different regions. This discussion will explore ethical concerns of chatbots, whether it is the privacy issue of the technology itself or the nature of GBV, and access to technology. The panelists will also share lessons and challenges learned from developing and implementing the chatbots and the success factors in developing a sustainable working model for the chatbots. Join the session to learn more about this new technological tool used to tackle one of the world’s most prevalent human rights violations, gender-based violence.

TIJ Justice Innovation Unit was officially launched in early 2021 with a mission to enable a people-centered justice system in Thailand and beyond through cross-sector collaboration and innovations. With human-centered and strategic foresight approaches, we tackle “wicked problems” in the justice system, including gender-based violence, youths at crime risks, and civic engagement empowerment through data and technology. Positioning ourselves as an enabler, we empower and connect key stakeholders beyond the justice sector to build a strong ecosystem dedicated to justice innovation, a space for experimentation, and a hub for knowledge and education to instill infrastructure for a people-centered justice system and groom justice mindsets for next generations.
