Non-Performing Loans in East Asia and the Pacific: Practices and Lessons in Times of COVID-19

  • Bank Negara Malaysia, the Malaysia Deposit Insurance Corporation (PIDM) and the World Bank invite you to a  webinar and launch of the World Bank report entitled “Non-Performing Loans in East Asia and the Pacific: Practices and Lessons in Times of COVID-19”. Key findings and conclusions from the report will be presented in areas such as the practices and quality of loan portfolios in the banking sector of EAP jurisdictions and the main vulnerabilities surrounding credit markets that may negatively impact the credit quality of banking portfolios. The panel speakers will discuss challenges policymakers will face as borrower relief mechanisms are withdrawn, considerations in managing effective exit strategies and options available for resolving any anticipated increase in NPLs.
