World Bank Knowledge Exchange Series: South Asia Vaccinates

  • The World Bank in partnership with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has launched series of workshops on COVID-19 vaccination in South Asia Region (SAR).

    The workshop series consist of five sessions that will run from February 22 to March 22. 

    In each session,  global best practices in the roll out of COVID-19 vaccination will be featured to help governments and development partners navigate the complexities of vaccine planning and deployment.

    The workshops will enable countries to make informed and actionable decisions based on the options available and guidance. They will provide a platform for SAR countries to engage with global and regional technical experts on critical choices and trade-offs in designing and deploying vaccination strategies, as well as learn from each other.

    March 8Demand management: Beneficiary journey; Vaccine hesitancy (measurement and drivers); Demand generation approaches (including user experience, communications and community engagement)
    March 15Digitalizing COVID-19 vaccination: Role of Digital in Covid-19 vaccination lifecycle; Digital innovations to date in Covid-19 vaccination; Building sustainable health management information systems
    March 22Procurement and regulatory best practices: Overview of procurement landscape (incld. the emerging portfolio of vaccines across SAR), Key considerations for portfolio design; Best practices for managing regulatory hurdles and indemnification

  • This is the initial workshop of a series of five workshops to address critical COVID-19 vaccination topics.

    The objectives of the first workshop are:

    • Discuss emerging solutions to key bottlenecks for vaccine rollout based on lessons learned from vaccination efforts
    • Discuss key uncertainties & potential scenarios for Covid 19 and considerations for countries' vaccinationstrategies
    • Engage in peer to peer learning by hearingperspectives from UAE on vaccination planning and deployment
