Seminar for Senior Bank Supervisors from Emerging Economies

    The Annual Seminar for Senior Bank Supervisors from Emerging Economies, jointly organized by the World Bank and its partner institutions, the International Monetary Fund and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, was held from October 21 – 25, 2019, in Washington, D.C.

    The objective of the seminar was to provide senior leaders of supervision and regulation functions with the awareness and understanding of current and emerging risks facing the global economy.  Some key focus areas of the seminar were:

    • updates from Basel; 
    • changes in supervisory culture; 
    • perspectives on anti-money laundering and correspondent banking; and 
    • developments in cybersecurity and Fintech

    Fifty senior officials representing central banks and financial supervisory agencies participated in the Seminar, with all regions represented.
