    At the margins of the TICAD7 conference, JICA, World Bank, and French Development Agency (AFD) hosted a TICAD7 Official Side Event “Sports for Africa” on August 27.

    The important role that sport can play is getting more attention in the field of sustainable development. In Africa, many countries together with development partners have started to utilize sport as a tool to address a range of social problems such as education, health, peace-building and social inclusion. This side event invited top athletes to discuss the roles and the potential of sport for development in Africa.
