The Development Economics Vice Presidency (DEC), in collaboration with the Global Themes Knowledge Management (GTKM) unit in Chennai, is organizing a seminar on “The Future of Macroeconomics.” on June 14, 2018.
The seminar, chaired by Shanta Devarajan (Acting World Bank Group Chief Economist and Senior Director, Development Economics), will feature Olivier Blanchard (Fred Bergsten Senior Fellow, Peterson Institute for International Economics and former Economic Counselor and Director of the Research Department, IMF) as the keynote speaker and conclude with a panel discussion. This seminar will discuss the limitations of the prevalent macroeconomic models, policy implications, as well as avenues to move forward in the design of macro policies.
