Thank you for participating in the joint ADB-WBG online youth survey
Thank you for participating in the joint Asian Development Bank and World Bank Group online Youth Survey conducted from February 22-March 22, 2024.
We are thankful to the 1004 Nepali youth of 18-35 age group who participated in the survey. Your valuable feedback on Nepal’s development priorities will be an important input for our upcoming Country Partnership Strategies for Nepal. The Country Partnership Strategies will be made public for all once completed.
The survey result provided us a great opportunity to learn about the aspirations and concerns of Nepali youth. The findings highlighted quality education, a self-sufficient agricultural sector, and poverty reduction as the top development priorities of Nepali youth. Similarly, political instability, corruption, remittance dependent economy, lack of quality jobs, poor education standards, and brain drain stood out as the major concerns of the youth.
You emphasized entrepreneurship, education, skills development, and agriculture and food security as key areas requiring more focus to retain young talent in Nepal.
Furthermore, your concerns on climate crisis resulting in water scarcity and reduced agricultural yields were evident in the findings. You recommended sustainable practices, improved waste management, and investment in renewable energy to address these issues. In addition, the importance of social inclusion through education, local employment opportunities, and inclusive decision-making processes came out strongly in the findings.
Thank you once again for taking the time to provide us your views and opinions. Your voices offer us valuable guidance for shaping our development strategies for lasting results in Nepal.
