Zubin Bamji


Zubin Bamji is the Manager for the World Bank’s Global Flaring & Methane Reduction (GFMR) Partnership, a trust fund composed of governments, oil companies, and multilateral organizations working to end routine gas flaring and reduce methane emissions from oil and gas production. He is responsible for leading a team that advises and helps governments identify and implement solutions to the many economic, regulatory, policy, and technical barriers to flaring and methane reduction.

Prior to joining the World Bank’s Energy & Extractives Global Practice, Bamji was a Senior Advisor for the U.S. Department of Commerce, working on regulatory, environmental, and sustainability issues for NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration). He has also served as Director of the Security Industry Association and Director of Brand Management & Communications for NPR. Bamji began his career as an Account Supervisor for Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics, management, and journalism from the University of South Carolina.
