Michael Weber


Michael Weber is Senior Economist with the World Bank’s Human Capital Project, working with policymakers and development practitioners around the globe. Michael has strong experience and expertise with policy solutions in the fields of skills development, labor markets, and social protection. Across these topics he focuses on innovative policies and programs in developing countries. Michael engages with national governments, the private sector, and international associations or organizations to help countries build, protect, and use their human capital. His work spans the design, implementation, and impact evaluation of policies and programs for better skills & jobs for more people. Michael joined the World Bank in 2008 and has since then worked with numerous low- and middle-income countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, South Asia, East Asia, Europe & Central Asia, and Latin America. Michael holds a PhD in Economics and Master’s Degrees in Economics as well as Commerce.
