Mr. Markus Kukkonen works as a Senior Land Administration Specialist in the World Bank’s Urban, Resilience and Land Practice for the East Asia and Pacific Region, leading land engagements in the Lao PDR and Nepal. Markus’ technical background is in GIS and remote sensing, while thematically he has focused on tenure security, land registration, forest tenure, and land use management. Besides Laos and Nepal, he has worked with land and forestry sectors in Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Tanzania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Croatia. Markus holds a Master of Science (Geography) degree from the University of Turku, Finland, and is based in Vientiane, Laos.
