Lukasz Marc


Lukasz Marc is an Economist in the Europe and Central Asia region of the Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Global Practice. He is currently working on innovation, entrepreneurship and regulation policy. His most recent projects focused on measuring the return to public innovation support to enterprises in Poland, public expenditure review of science, technology and innovation in Croatia, and strengthening entrepreneurship in Włocławek subregion in Poland. Besides working at the World Bank, he has been affiliated, in research and teaching capacity, with the Vistula University.

Prior to the World Bank, Łukasz worked as a Youth Forward Learning Partnership manager and a Research Fellow in the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London and as an Analyst in the Institute for Structural Research in Warsaw. He has a master degree in economics from the Warsaw School of Economics, and a PhD in development economics from the VU University Amsterdam and Tinbergen Institute. During his PhD studies, he was a visiting researcher at the United Nations University WIDER in Helsinki. Łukasz has a country experience in Poland, Croatia, Ghana, Uganda, Nigeria and Kenya.
