Charlotte Nan Jiang

Charlotte Nan Jiang is Adviser in the Policy Indicators Group of the World Bank Group’s Development Economics Vice Presidency. She guides the development of new policy indicators and provides strategic advice and quality assurance across the group’s programs. She leads the Worldwide Governance Indicators, which produce annual measures of governance for more than 200 economies. She also manages the Financial Development Data, a new initiative tracking financial system development across 190 economies over time, in partnership with the World Bank Group’s Financial Services Global Practice.

In nearly two decades at the World Bank Group, Charlotte has worked across its major global indicator programs. She has held supervisory roles on the flagship Business Ready and Doing Business projects. She also advises on business environment assessments covering more than 600 locations across over 80 economies, as well as enterprise surveys in more than 160 economies and indicators on laws affecting women’s economic opportunities in 190 economies.

Before joining the World Bank Group, Charlotte worked in Fixed Income and Currencies at Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking in London. She holds an M.Sc. in Management Science and Engineering, with a focus on Finance, from Stanford University.
