Chanin Manopiniwes

Infrastructure Economist, East Asia and Pacific

Dr. Chanin Manopiniwes is an Infrastructure Economist with the World Bank since March 2006. Based in Thailand, he has led and supported World Bank's projects, as well as analytical works, in cross-cutting areas from transport, renewable energy and energy efficiency, urban, ICT, water resources and disaster risk management, climate change, public sector and decentralization, and public private partnership.

His work in the region covers the transport sector’s knowledge engagement in Thailand and Malaysia, as well as preparation, implementation, and completion of transport projects for Lao PDR, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Pacific Island countries. He also contributes to economic and financial analysis in various World Bank projects in these countries.

Chanin has a Ph.D. in applied economics and management from Cornell University, a Master’s degree in policy economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Thammasat University, Thailand.
